Patient Access Representative (FT Days)

Now Hiring: Patient Access Representative (FT Days)

As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our Emergency Center operates smoothly and efficiently. Your dedication will help create a welcoming environment for patients and their families, facilitating a seamless check-in and check-out process while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk Operations: Greet patients and guests warmly, determine their needs, and direct them appropriately. Collect demographic information, obtain necessary signatures, and manage phone inquiries professionally. Maintain logs and ensure a clean, organized reception area.
  • Financial Responsibilities: Collect payments (cash, checks, credit cards), maintain accurate financial records, and perform daily reconciliation of patient accounts.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in keeping the facility, including patient areas and restrooms, clean and welcoming.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Interact courteously with patients, families, physicians, and team members, embodying our core values.
  • Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
  • Additional Duties: Support management with various tasks or projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Patient Access Representative in a hospital, ER, or clinic setting
  • Experience with medical registration, admitting, and insurance verification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and safety

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
  • Dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth
